Our final “Geek Speak” Computer Basics seminar of the year will be held Monday, Oct 24th, at 3:00 pm, in the Charles Mack Citizens Center in Mooresville. In “Did I Download That?” we will be looking at the hazards of the internet and how to avoid many of the pitfalls associated with surfing the net, social media sites, and emailings. I read an article by Ed Bott; in summary, if you regularly patch your software, you are much more likely to avoid virus infections. Yep, that’s it! Update and patch your software. Have removed the Open Cloud AV from four computers in the last few days! It’s a nasty rogue infection. Be careful when clicking on links on websites. Infected websites can infect your PC!
